Art in Motion 5

The Story

The School of Fine Art at USC approached THE_GROOP with hopes to surpass the previous year's success and attendance of the Art in Motion festival. The theme for AIM 5 was "syzygy" or the melding of human and machine. In addition to creating a style representative of this dynamic theme, the site needed to include a user-friendly submission page with the capability for judges to evaluate the work remotely from their own computers.

The Results

THE_GROOP developed a visual language using color-coded organic forms, which allude to the idea of the melding of human and machine.

The website's content was expanded with links to other events and sites of interest to actively engage the target festival community.

The online submission form saved time and energy, allowing participants to easily submit their work for evaluation by the judges.

All components designed from print to web were visually coherent. The festival was a great success and attendance doubled from the previous year.
